The Cue Project in North Murchison, Western Australia, is 70 km west of Meekatharra and only a mere 15 km from the Big Bell gold deposit (2.9 Moz). Comprising three exploration licences, it benefits from established mining infrastructure and nearby processing facilities.
The Cue Project tenements cover a total area of over 600km2 and is centered approximately 60km northwest of the town of Cue and 670km NNE of Perth in Western Australia.
The Cue project is primarily considered prospective for orogenic gold mineralisation within the greenstone belt associated with second order shear zones. The combination of favourable host rock sequences, large-scale alteration systems and a complex of intersections, regional faults and shears, chiefly the Big Bell and Cuddingwarra Shear, both of which host major gold deposits makes the Cue project highly favourable for further gold mineralisation.
The Cue Project is directly along strike from the world class Big Bell gold mine operated by Westgold (ASX:WGX). Big Bell has produced over 3Moz and currently has a mineral resources of 24.4M tonnes at 3.0 g/t Au for 2.3 Moz of Au.
Golden Dragon have identified multiple gold targets along these prospective shear zone and presents as a compelling target for Golden Dragon to pursue.
Results of the drilling undertaken on the project to date indicates a correlation of anomalous gold results with the major structural breaks. Large parts of the project are covered by deeper transported cover where there has been minimal testing to date. Golden Dragon has identified a number of structurally controlled targets, some of which correspond with old workings, dry blowing patches and highly anomalous gold results in drilling. Targets that Golden Dragon consider advanced and worthy of follow up exploration are Stockyard East, Stockyard West, Big Bell North, Jeffery Well, Cuddingwarra, Behing Bore and the Yalgowra Prospects.
